Welcome to the Trevino Ranch, a Wildlife Management Area

Welcome to the Trevino Ranch, a Wildlife Management Area
We are located in Northwest Webb County, Texas. The nearest point of civilization is Laredo, Texas, about 45 minutes South of the ranch.
Our goal is to provide a natural environment for our Texas wildlife to survive and prosper. We have a plan of water conservation, improving natural food sources and selective harvesting to help us with our goal.
Our ranch is 5000 acres of South Texas semi-arid landscape. It has been maintained as a primitive area-there is no utility or water service located on the ranch. There are 4 ponds (in Spanish, presas) that hold water year around that are optimal for wildlife observation and photography. Prior to 2000, it was used for cattle production but has been growing wild since that year.
We have been the location of a bird survey through Louisiana State University, and a reptile survey through Texas A & M University. We have also hosted the Nature Conservancy in a survey of all the plants and animals that inhabit the ranch. All related information about these surveys can be requested on the information page.
Please see additional pages for more information on Camping, Hunting and the application for reservations.
